Welcome to Selam Unisex Hair Salon. By booking an appointment or using any of our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before your visit.
1. General
These terms apply to all services provided by Selam Unisex Hair Salon ("the Salon", "we", "us") at our Manchester premises and any online interactions via our website. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Appointments & Bookings
2.1 Booking Confirmation
All appointments must be booked in advance via our online booking system, by telephone, or in person. A booking is only confirmed once you receive a confirmation message or email from us.
2.2 Deposits
A non-refundable deposit may be required at the time of booking for certain services (including but not limited to braiding services over 2 hours, and specialist treatments). The deposit amount will be communicated at the time of booking and will be deducted from your final bill.
2.3 Cancellation Policy
- 48+ hours notice: Full refund of any deposit paid.
- 24–48 hours notice: 50% of the service price will be charged.
- Less than 24 hours notice / No-show: 100% of the service price will be charged. Deposits will be forfeited.
To cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 48 hours before your appointment via phone or email.
2.4 Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten or reschedule your service. Full charges may still apply. We cannot guarantee that late arrivals will receive the full service originally booked.
2.5 Walk-Ins
Walk-in clients are welcome subject to availability. Upon arrival, wait times of up to 1 hour may apply depending on how busy we are. We recommend calling ahead to check current availability.
3. Pricing & Payment
3.1 Prices
All prices displayed on our website and in-salon price list are in Great British Pounds (£) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price quoted at the time of booking will be honoured.
3.2 Price Variations
Service durations and final prices may vary depending on hair length, thickness, style complexity, and the amount of product or extension hair required. Any additional costs will be discussed and agreed with the client before work commences.
3.3 Payment Methods
We accept cash, major debit and credit cards, and contactless payment. Payment is due in full upon completion of services unless a prior arrangement has been made.
3.4 Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. Vouchers must be presented at the time of the appointment. Lost or stolen vouchers will not be replaced. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
4. Services
4.1 Consultations
A consultation is carried out before all new colour services and specialist treatments. We reserve the right to decline a service if we believe it poses a risk to the health of your hair or scalp. No charge will be made if a service is declined following consultation.
4.2 Patch Tests
A skin/patch test is required 48 hours prior to any chemical treatment (including colouring and relaxing services) for first-time clients and for any client who has not visited us within the past 6 months. Failure to complete a patch test may result in the service being refused.
4.3 Children's Services
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout their appointment. The parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring the child remains cooperative during the appointment. We reserve the right to stop a service if the child is distressed.
4.4 Service Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse service to any client at our discretion, including in cases of aggressive or abusive behaviour towards staff, contraindications to a requested treatment, or failure to comply with our policies.
5. Satisfaction & Complaints
Your satisfaction is our priority. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your service, please inform your stylist immediately or contact us within 48 hours of your appointment. We will do our utmost to resolve the issue. Complaints raised after 48 hours may not be eligible for a complimentary adjustment.
We do not offer refunds on services already rendered, but we will offer a complimentary correction service where reasonably possible.
6. Health, Safety & Medical Conditions
Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, scalp sensitivities, or medications before your appointment. This includes but is not limited to skin conditions, recent surgery, pregnancy, and any known allergies to hair products.
We are not liable for any adverse reactions arising from failure to disclose relevant medical information prior to treatment.
7. Personal Belongings
Selam Unisex Hair Salon accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal belongings brought onto the premises. Please keep your valuables secure at all times.
8. Data & Privacy
We collect and process your personal data (name, contact details, appointment history) in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Your data is used solely to manage your appointments and improve our services. We do not share your data with third parties without your consent.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Selam Unisex Hair Salon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our services. Our total liability to any client shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
